iPads purchased by the Division will still be allowed. However, the cellular data plans will be discontinued as of July 1, 2025. All iPads can connect to Division-provided WiFi, and many stations and centers are equipped with outside WiFi. You can also use your phone's hotspot if your personal plan allows.
This decision aligns with our cellular policy, streamlining device management and reducing costs. Tablets do not require a monthly data plan to be used, they can be connected by WIFI or a hotspot. A MIFI provides a hotspot service and requires a monthly data plan for use. MIFI devices require pre-approval.
