Pine Tree Research Station Land Sale

Proceeds would benefit agriculture, wildlife research across Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK – A new rice research station for northeastern Arkansas, a hefty investment in research in “smart farming,” as well as making needed improvements at agriculture research stations across Arkansas are among the many beneficial projects to be funded through a land sale in St. Francis County.

The sale of a tract at the Pine Tree Research Station in Colt, Arkansas, could also provide much-needed funds for improvements for projects and facilities at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, including wildlife and timber research.

Even with the sale, hunting should continue to be allowed on the remaining land, in partnership with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
